Reverend Pastor Paula Holyfield Collins

Pastor Paula Collins is an ordained minister of the Church of God (North America) through the Chesapeake, Delaware, and Potomac General Assembly of the Church of God (CDP).  She was saved at West Middlesex Youth Camp in Pennsylvania as a teen-ager and later, as an adult, recommitted her life to Christ. Her passion is to share the life-altering “Good News” to the lost in sin and those struggling in life. Her burden is for the malleable hearts of children to be filled with the knowledge of Jesus. Her mission is to be available to God at all times and in any capacity He calls her, and to encourage and train others to offer to God that same availability.

She has served the body of believers at Accokeek First Church of God in a variety of capacities since 1984. In this period of time, she has taught the Kindergarten, Youth, Young Adult, and Adult Sunday School classes, Bible Study teacher and has written and taught Vacation Bible School curricula.

Pastor Collins has served the AFCOG congregation as Youth Leader and Congregational Pastor and many other leadership roles. She has served the CDP District as Executive Secretary. She is currently serving the CDP as a member of the Credentialing Committee.

She is an Evangelical Training Association (ETA) certified faculty member of the AFCOG Bible & Leadership Institute, and a lifetime member of the Church of God Christian Women Connection.

Paula Collins is a native West Virginia where she earned a B.S. in Biology from West Virginia Wesleyan College. She also holds a M.A. in Library Media from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland. Concurrently with the M.A., she earned her Administrator and Supervisor Certification I from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland.

Pastor Paula is a retired public educator with licensure with the Maryland State Department of Education. In her thirty-three year tenure with Charles County Public Schools, where she chaired the Science Department and Library Media Department, she received national and local recognition for her work as a science teacher.

She is the mother of two adult children, and grandmother to four grandsons.
